What we do:
Leading European R&D centre focused on the virtual development, validation, and operation of software-based systems, especially in the mobility domain. With a strong emphasis on co-simulation and digital engineering, Virtual Vehicle Research bridges academic innovation and industrial application to shape the future of intelligent mobility.
Our role in CARMONY:
Coordinates the CARMONY project, leads the development of the simulation framework and orchestrator testing, and supports long- and short-term simulation design and pilot evaluations.

What we do:
The main technological centre of Catalonia and one of the largest private research organisations in Southern Europe, driving innovation with a focus on delivering measurable social and economic impact. Its interdisciplinary research combines digital, industrial, and sustainability expertise to support organisations in becoming more competitive.
Our role in CARMONY:
Leads conceptualisation and refinement of governance and business models for traffic orchestration, as well as collaborates in assessing user needs, pilot evaluation, dissemination, and policy recommendations.

What we do:
Spain’s largest applied research and technology organisation, working at the intersection of research, industry, and society. It develops solutions in areas such as digital transformation, energy transition, sustainable mobility, and health, positioning itself as a catalyst for real-world innovation.
Our role in CARMONY:
Leads real-world demonstrations, especially in Murcia, provides expertise on CCAM vehicles and fleet optimisation, and supports pilot planning, deployment, and evaluation.

What we do:
Sweden’s state-owned research and innovation institute, supporting the sustainable growth and competitiveness of industry and society. Its expertise spans diverse sectors, enabling collaboration between academia, public authorities, and industry to accelerate technology deployment and societal transformation.
Our role in CARMONY:
Contributes with system of systems expertise to develop orchestration architecture, contributes to simulation and governance models, leads implementation of the orchestrator and contributes to evaluation and future deployment.

What we do:
Frontier Innovations is an agile SME based in Greece, dedicated to developing advanced digital technologies that expand the digital frontier. It delivers intelligent technical solutions and tailored IT services to clients across public and private sectors, with a strong focus on transportation and mobility systems.
Our role in CARMONY:
Leads development of simulation architecture, designs and implements the traffic data space, and supports testing and validation of traffic management services.

What we do:
ETRA I+D is the hi-tech unit within ETRA Group, one of the leading industrial groups in Spain. The activity of ETRA I+D is centred in three main activity lines: energy management, smart mobility (including EV charging infrastructure management, traffic solutions, and PT systems) and cyber physical security.
Our role in CARMONY:
Requirements and KPI definition leaders, infrastructure and services providers for Murcia demo site, and contributes to orchestrator development and deployment.

What we do:
HYPERVISOUL develops next-generation traffic management solutions tailored for connected and automated vehicles. Leveraging a system-of-systems approach, HYPERVISOUL intelligent road traffic management solutions address the challenges of tomorrow’s connected and automated mobility.
Our role in CARMONY:
Develops real-time congestion detection and mitigation algorithms, and contributes to the future deployment of guidance systems for connected and automated vehicles, as well as decision-support tools for road managers and authorities.

What we do:
The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) of the University of Luxembourg is a leading research centre conducting high-impact and high-risk research in four strategic research areas, namely, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, fintech and space systems.
Our role in CARMONY:
Provides the CCAM vehicle platform and interface development, contributes to data exchange specifications, and supports simulations and integration with the Luxembourg pilot. Leads data exchange development, refines use cases, assists in pilot planning and validation, and supports dissemination, IP management, and exploitation of results.

What we do:
LuxMobility is an international consultancy specialized in sustainable transport and mobility innovation across Europe and beyond. With a mission to turn cutting-edge knowledge into actionable solutions, it supports cities, governments, and organizations in addressing complex mobility challenges.
Our role in CARMONY:
Leads impact assessment, exploitation and communication, coordinates the Luxembourg pilot and helps shaping governance models and stakeholder engagement.

What we do:
The Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT) within CERTH is Greece’s national centre for research in transportation and mobility. It provides applied R&D, policy support, and training in areas like traffic safety, intelligent transport systems, and sustainable mobility strategies.
Our role in CARMONY:
Leads ethics and data management, evaluation framework and training activities, contributes to requirements definition, HMI strategies, KPIs, deployment and capacity building.

What we do:
The City of Murcia is an active mid-sized urban hub in southeastern Spain, committed to modernising its transport systems through digital innovation and sustainability. As a municipal authority, Murcia plays a key role in piloting new mobility solutions to improve the daily lives of its citizens.
Our role in CARMONY:
Provides urban demonstration environment, supports use case definition, pilot deployment, and evaluation in Murcia’s traffic ecosystem.
